Mandemic
Your group chat called. It wants an actual plan.
After 30, the things that used to make friends for us (school, teams, living down the street) go away. Mandemic is a free, platonic app for finding guys near you who actually want to do stuff: pickleball at 7, a tee time Saturday, a show on a Thursday. You find a plan, you show up, you do it again. Not a dating app. Not social media.
How it works
- Pick what you're into. Tap a few activities and the times you're usually free. Sign-up takes about a minute.
- Find a plan nearby. See what guys near you are doing, filtered by distance and your schedule. Or post your own and let others join.
- Get a crew. Small groups of 4 to 6 guys who meet again and again, because repeat time together is how strangers become friends.
- The app makes the plan. Every week or two it suggests your crew's next outing: something you all like, at a time that fits everyone.
- Split the cost. When an activity costs money, the organizer pays and the app sends everyone a request for their share.
Reliability, not popularity
There are no likes, no followers and no ratings. The only score is whether you do what you said you'd do: show up, and pay your share. Cancel early and nothing happens. Cancel late or no-show and it counts. Everyone gets a "life happens" pass each month.
Built to get you off your phone
There is no feed to scroll. You open the app, find or confirm a plan, and go. The point is hours spent together in person, not hours in the app.
Fair to everyone
Mandemic matches guys on activities, distance and schedules. It never asks about or matches on race or ethnicity. Questions about faith or politics are optional, and only count if you say they matter to you. Your home address is never shown to anyone.
Who it's for
Any guy 18 or older who wants more friends to do things with. Dads, single guys, new-in-town guys, guys whose old friends are three states away. Every plan can be "kids welcome" or "guys only."
When
Mandemic is being designed now, for iPhone and Android. It will launch in one city first.
