Mandemic for iPhone, now in TestFlight beta. Last updated: October 6, 2026
Email b2gaudio@gmail.com and we'll reply within 2 business days. Reports you make in the app are reviewed within 24 hours. If you are ever in danger, call 911 first.
The basics
Is this a dating app? No. Mandemic is strictly platonic. It's for guys who want friends to play pickleball, golf, see a show, or take a trip with. Using it to hook up gets an account banned.
Does it cost anything? No. The app is free and has no ads. When an activity itself costs money, like court time or tickets, the organizer sets a cost per person and you pay him directly.
Which phones? iPhone, through a TestFlight beta for now. Android isn't available yet.
Signing in
How do I sign in? Enter your email and we'll send you a 6-digit code, or use Sign in with Apple. No password, no phone number.
My code didn't arrive. It can take a minute. Check your spam or junk folder for an email from Mandemic <noreply@mail.b2gaudio.com>, make sure the address is right, and tap "Send again."
Can I hide my email with Apple? Yes. Hide My Email works: Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one. Keep using Sign in with Apple after that. Signing in with a code sent to your real address would make a separate account.
Is my email shown to anyone? No. Your email is never shown to other members.
Why do you ask my birth year? You must be 18 to join. It also keeps drinking-centered plans (bourbon, breweries) 21 and up: the app opens them to you from January 1 of the year after you turn 21, and keeps them out of crews where someone might be under 21. The app never shows your birth year to other guys.
Do I have to answer the faith and politics questions? No. That screen is optional and skippable. Only you can see your answers. If you answer, they're used only for matching, and only when you say they matter. You can remove them any time on the You tab.
Location
How does Mandemic use my location? Only while you're using the app: to work out your area, and when you check in at a meetup. Your area is rounded to about 1 km before it leaves your phone. Other guys see how far away a plan is, never where you are. Don't want to share it? Type your city or ZIP instead.
What happens when I check in? The app checks once that you're within about 2 km of the venue. Your location is compared, not stored. We only keep that you checked in.
Can I see plans in another city? Yes. Browse a city and its plans show up for 14 days, or until you clear it. It doesn't change who you're matched with.
Notifications
What does Mandemic notify me about? New chat messages, a guy joining your plan, a plan you're in reaching its minimum ("It's on"), a plan being called off, and being added to a crew. You also get reminders 1 week, 1 day and 1 hour before a plan you're in. Reminders are set on your phone itself.
How do I turn them off? In your iPhone's Settings, tap Notifications, then Mandemic.
Plans and crews
How do I join a plan? Tap "In." Spots are first come, first served. If you can't make it after all, tap "Not this time" as early as you can.
Can I post my own plan? Yes. Pick the activity, time, place and number of spots. Pick who it's for: "Guys only," "Bring your kids," or "Family & partners welcome." Then pick who can see it: anyone within 15, 25 or 50 miles, or just your crew.
What does "Needs at least" mean? Any plan can set a minimum number of guys. If not enough are in a day before, it's called off automatically and nobody's score is affected.
How do crews form? Automatically. Each night Mandemic groups 4 to 6 guys within about 15 miles of each other who like the same things and are free at the same times. Whether you're matched depends on who's nearby, so there's no guarantee. Crews run in 8-week seasons, and the app suggests a crew plan about once a week. In week 8 the crew chat asks "Keep rolling with this crew?" Your answer is private; guys who say yes stay together for another season, and everyone else goes back into matching for a new crew.
Can other guys join my crew's plans? Crews are open by default: guys nearby can join spots on the crew's suggested plans that the crew isn't using, first come, first served. Crew guys get first dibs until 2 days before. Anyone in the crew can make the crew's plans crew only, and a crew plan can also be opened just to fill a spot. Guys who join get that plan's chat, never the crew chat.
What's a plan "Suggested by Mandemic"? When enough guys nearby like the same activity and are free at the same time, Mandemic posts a plan a few days out. It has no organizer: spots are first come, first served, and the guys who are in pick the spot. If it doesn't have enough guys for that activity a day before, it's called off and nobody's score changes. These plans have no cost in the app, so if the spot charges, settle it between yourselves. We don't book or vouch for venues.
What's my level for? On the You tab, you can rate your own level and how you like to play for each activity. Only you see it. It helps us suggest plans and crews with guys around your level. Plans can show a level range, and only you see where you fit. Levels aren't checked, so play at a level you can handle safely.
Who sees my answers to "How was it?" No one. Not the other guys, not the organizer. "More with this group?" nudges crew matching a little. "The level was…" only helps you adjust your own level.
How do I leave a crew? Open the crew chat, tap "Crew," then "Leave crew." There's no penalty, and plans you already said In to stay on your list (cancel any you can't make).
Your reliability score
How does it work? It goes up when you show up and check in, and when you pay your share on time. Cancelling more than 48 hours ahead has no effect. Cancelling 24 to 48 hours ahead is a small hit, under 24 hours is a bigger one, and a no-show is the biggest. New members show "New" until their third meetup.
Something came up. Everyone gets one "life happens" pass a month. Use it when you cancel and that cancellation won't count. If the plan is more than 48 hours away, you don't need it.
My score is wrong. On the You tab, find the event in your score history and tap "Dispute." You can dispute penalties from the last 30 days. Check-in data decides attendance. If there's no proof either way, your score doesn't change. Still stuck? Email us with the plan name and date.
Money
How does paying work? The organizer pays the venue and sets a cost per person. You pay him with Venmo, Cash App or PayPal through a link in the app, and he marks you paid.
Someone hasn't paid me back. Mandemic never holds or moves money, so we can't collect it for you. Late or missing payments do count against that person's reliability score.
I paid but I'm still marked unpaid. Ask the organizer in the plan chat first. If that doesn't fix it, dispute it from your score history.
Safety
How do I report or block someone? Long-press one of his messages in a chat, or tap his name in a plan's list of who's in. Then choose "Report" or "Block." You can also report from the "How was it?" card after a meetup. Reports go to the Mandemic team, not to him, and a person reviews them within 24 hours.
What does blocking do? You won't see each other's plans, profiles or messages. He isn't told.
What happens to someone who's suspended? He can't sign in, his upcoming plans are called off, and he's taken off upcoming plans he joined and out of his crews. None of that counts against anyone else's score.
Is there a language filter? Yes. Slurs are blocked in chats, plans and names. It's a backstop: please report anything that gets through.
Tips for meeting new guys: meet in a group at a public place first, get yourself there and home, and tell someone where you're going. Your home address never needs to be on your profile; share a pickup spot only in a private chat, and only if you want to.
Your account
Can I change my email? Yes. On the You tab, tap "Change email." To keep your account safe, we send a code to your current address and another to the new one, and you enter both.
What's a strike? For smaller problems, like being rude in chat, we give a strike instead of a ban. The first is a warning, the second pauses your account for 7 days, and the third closes it. Strikes count for 12 months and show on your You tab with the reason. Think one's a mistake? Email us.
How do I delete my account? On the You tab, tap "Delete account," then confirm. It deletes your account right away, including plans you organized and messages you sent, as described in the Privacy Policy. No longer have the app? Email us from the address on your account. If you used Sign in with Apple, you can also stop using it with Mandemic in your iPhone's Settings.
Can I get a copy of my data? Yes. Email us from the address on your account.
