How to use Gmail on CarPlay
Google doesn't put Gmail on CarPlay — but you can still hear and answer your Gmail while you drive.
Short answer: there's no official Gmail app for CarPlay. The workaround is a CarPlay email app that connects to your Gmail account. DriveMail Voice connects to Gmail with a secure app password, reads your unread mail aloud on CarPlay, and lets you reply by voice — and it does the same for Outlook and iCloud.
Connecting Gmail (secure app password)
Create an app password
In your Google Account → Security, generate an app password — a one-time code that lets an app connect without your real password.
Paste it into DriveMail Voice
Add your Gmail address and the app password. That's the whole setup.
Drive and listen
Connect CarPlay and your unread Gmail is read aloud automatically, oldest first.
Why an app password? It keeps your main Google password private and can be revoked anytime — and because DriveMail processes everything on-device with no servers, your Gmail never leaves your phone.
